FAQ

I wanted to give a little FAQ and things to know for reference. Contact me if you want something added.

  • What can I expect of you without any specific instructions given?
    • It will depend on the type of event.
    • Family Photos – I tend to let the families pose how they like, and then snap away. I’ll correct posing if needed. Most family sessions are 30 minutes or less unless the families are large or want to be more creative than the usual.
    • Small/Family Event Photos – For small events, I’ll usually wander around and get photos of whoever is interested. Free for all with smaller events. I want to make sure to capture the loving atmosphere.
    • Large/Nightlife Style Events – I will usually circle around getting pretty people, and couples. The goal would be to make your event look as good as possible.
    • Corporate Events – With corporate events, It’s a mix of the above. I’ll usually wander around and snap whoever wants photos.
    • Modeling Photos – I’m a passive shooter in this case. I tend to let you naturally do whatever you like. I may correct posing, but it’s not common I will direct. My shooting style is goofy and fun.
    • Real Estate – I will typically grab one to three photos of each room and things that stand out to me.
  • How can I make sure I get the photos I want?
    • Emailing me a bulleted shot list is one sure fire way to make sure no photos are missed. The other way would be to make sure to tell me as we go what photos you want me to get.
  • How many photos can I expect?
    • I go for quality over quantity aspect. Which means I do my best to get as many as I can without duplicates or too many of the same people. For smaller events, 20-50 photos are commonly expected, larger events, 75-100 photos. I make no guarantees on photo count.
    • For family photos, this will vary.
    • Real estate imagery will vary on your package.
  • How are photos edited? Can I request specific edits?
    • Photos will be edited per my creative standards. Most photos are edited in a similar fashion to other photos you will see on my site(s), though there may be some deviation depending on the composition.
    • This is commonly lighting and coloring within Lightroom. Should in-depth photoshopping be needed, there may be an additional fee, as in-depth edits (those that take more than a minute or so) are not included in my basic (lighting and color) editing as noted on invoices.
    • You can request specific edits before I begin the editing process. I reserve the right to deny edits that go against my artistic style. Edits requested after my initial edits and after photos are delivered will commonly billed per edit.
    • Please also note, unedited photos are not released.
  • Why was my photo deleted? Why do you delete so many?
    • As mentioned above, I aim for quality over quantity. I delete photos for a number of reasons. Such as: Focus may not have been fully there, Someone may have blinked, Someone made a weird face, or I just didn’t like the composition of the photo. A number of reasons. I want to make sure everyone looks their best, and not everyone is photogenic.
  • Do you take photos with people’s cell phones?
    • No, I do not. I will not take photos with people’s phones as I consider that tacky.
  • How do you send photos? How do you I get them?
    • I send photos via Google Drive.
  • Do you offer an option to get photos on CD?
    • No, given that CDs are now considered an old technology, I don’t offer an option to burn CD’s.
  • How can I print your photos?
    • You can upload to one of many websites to get them printed or take a thumb drive with photos to Costco, Walgreens, CVS or any place that prints photos.
    • Please note that due to the many print sizes, I do not edit to any specific size. If you want specific sizes, please let me know before I start editing. Otherwise size edits will be billable.
  • How long do I have to choose photos?
    • If your shoot requires you to choose photos or you would like to choose the photos I edit, then you will have three days to choose your photos from the time of proof delivery. This is to keep projects timely. Failure to choose photos within this time will incur a $106 fee.
  • How long does it take to get photos?
    • Typically 24 to 72 hours.
